"This is a tough note to write, but since a bunch of you have started to suspect something, I'll cut to the chase,"
"Last week I was diagnosed with metastasized, stage-four pancreatic cancer, and am gonna die."
"I'm not going down without a fight. One sub-part of God's grace is found in the jawdropping advances science has made the past few years in immunother"
Ben Sasse was diagnosed last week with metastasized, stage-four pancreatic cancer and faces a terminal prognosis. He intends to pursue treatments and highlighted advances in immunotherapy. Sasse served as a U.S. senator from Nebraska beginning in 2014 and won reelection in 2020 after defeating a pro-Trump primary challenger. He was a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump and was one of seven Republican senators to vote to convict on incitement of insurrection after Jan. 6. Sasse resigned in 2023 to become president of the University of Florida, left that post after his wife's epilepsy diagnosis, and has three children.
