After Trump's decision to bomb Iran's nuclear sites, fissures within the MAGA movement are becoming apparent. While interventionist Republicans express support, the America First faction is concerned about engagement in another foreign conflict. Surprisingly, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has appeared as a principled advocate against this escalation, continuing her critical stance from her opposition to Ukraine aid. Her recent criticisms stand in stark contrast to Trump's pro-intervention stance, and so far, she has not faced significant backlash from him, unlike fellow Republican Thomas Massie, who was publicly condemned by Trump for his criticism.
Since the B2 bombers released their payload onto three of Iran's nuclear facilities, Greene has been one of the loudest and most consistent voices sounding the alarm about the risks of the conflict spiraling into all-out war.
What's new is that this time, her stance puts her on the opposite side of Trump, a man few, if any, prominent members dare to defy. So far, she has done so in a manner that has not elicited an attack from Trump.
