On June 8, 1931, Alexander Williams, a 16-year-old Black student, was executed, the youngest person executed in Pennsylvania. Sam Lemon, great-grandson of Williams' lawyer, worked to reveal prosecutorial misconduct, resulting in a conviction reversal and retrial motion granted in 2022.
Delaware County district attorney acknowledged the wrongful conviction, moved to dismiss charges posthumously. Williams' family filed a federal lawsuit, alleging outrageous conduct by detectives and prosecutors, aiming to seek justice for Alexander.
