Coulsdon Home Hardware was opened in 1954 and is still thriving today, now celebrating 70 years under the stewardship of Geoff's grandson, Simon Harris.
Simon explained that his grandpa started the store with basic offerings and gradually expanded, ultimately owning three shops side by side.
Despite being the third generation to run the store, Simon was not expected to take over initially; he had pursued a music career before working in construction.
Now, the business includes kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms alongside standard hardware items, showcasing how the Harris family has adapted the store to modern needs.
