Starmer said, "That was just part of a video we were putting out in relation to I think it was during Covid. The idea that I was pretending it was my own home is pretty farcical."
The Prime Minister downplayed the criticism over receiving gifts from Labour peer Waheed Alli, affirming, "There's nothing wrong with having used Alli's flat for filming during the Covid pandemic."
Starmer emphasized that Alli, a Labour fundraiser, has not tried to influence government policy: "No, he is a Labour lord and he wanted a Labour victory and that was his sole motive."
