The victim, a 5-year-old girl, was riding a bicycle on Hopewell Road when a HGV lorry struck her at 3.40pm.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the girl tragically died at the scene, with officers supporting her family.
Humberside Police are appealing for information and asking for CCTV or dashcam footage to assist in the investigation.
