Tesla is piloting a new 'Supercharger queue' system to resolve a rare but problematic issue at Superchargers, where drivers sometimes cut in line. As Tesla opens its Supercharger Network to other manufacturers, congestion has increased, prompting the need for effective management. The new virtual queuing system aims to inform drivers of their position in line, reducing confusion and avoiding confrontations between users. The pilot program, led by North American charging head Max de Zegher, is expected to result in public testing soon.
According to Max de Zegher, the company’s North American charging head, they are pressure testing virtual queuing with Tesla Charging teams for public pilots that will improve user experience.
