Iqbal Singh Randhawa, a Fairfield travel agent, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for defrauding the South Asian community in Northern California. Prosecutors revealed that Randhawa, also known as Paul, diverted over $147,617 through fraudulent airline ticket sales. Victims, who entrusted him with upwards of $12,000 each, received fake itineraries instead of actual tickets. In addition, Randhawa committed over $89,000 in credit card fraud by using stolen information to maintain his travel agency's operations. His conviction included 11 felony counts of grand theft and underscored the severe emotional and financial damages his actions caused.
