Peacock will increase subscription prices for new users by $3 monthly, with the ad-supported plan rising to $10.99 and the ad-free tier to $16.99. Existing subscribers will see the new rates on or after August 22. A new version called Peacock Select will also be offered for $7.99. This price hike makes Peacock’s ad-supported tier costlier than competitors like Max, Hulu, Disney+, and Prime Video. This is attributed to NBCU’s substantial investment in sports content, especially the NBA, as part of its strategy to compete in the streaming market.
Peacock will begin charging new subscribers $3 more monthly, with the ad-supported plan increasing to $10.99 and the ad-free tier rising to $16.99.
The ad-supported plan will be $1 more expensive than Max, Hulu, and Disney+ with ads; $2 more than stand-alone Prime Video; and $3 more than Netflix.
