Onikeku chose to leave a successful career in France, stating, 'With all the money we were given in France, I really felt like I was working for the government.'

Onikeku's vision for his work is to reflect the vibrancy of Lagos: 'I want to mirror the real world—vibrant, chaotic, problematic.'
