Toshiba follows the pack with launch of 24TB and 28TB HDDs | Computer Weekly
Briefly

Toshiba's latest hard disk drives, the 24TB MG11 and 28TB MA11, utilize advanced technologies including CMR and SMR to enhance storage capabilities, rivaling competitors.
The MG11 employs unique FC-MAMR technology, allowing for high-density data storage by facilitating precise magnetic writing using microwaves, exceeding previous capacities of Toshiba's HDDs.
While the MG11 achieves maximum throughput of 309MBps with 1GB cache, the MA11’s throughput is limited to about 150MBps due to its 6Gbps SATA connectivity.
SMR technology's overlapping tracks enable higher density storage but restricts the ability to modify existing data, making it ideal for archival purposes.
