As we approach the peak renewal period for health insurance renewals, consumers need to brace themselves for more than just spiralling health insurance costs; there are numerous other shocks coming their way which will no doubt force thousands to start reviewing their options.

Health insurance expert Dermot Goode warns that families on expensive plans may end up paying multiples of price hikes, with costs rising by up to €515 a year.
