Making Augmented Reality Accessible: A Case Study of Lens in Maps
Briefly

One in four individuals who are currently 20 years old are at risk of becoming disabled before they reach retirement age. This disability may result from a variety of factors, including lifestyle, accidents, or diseases. Approximately 1.3 billion people globally live with significant disabilities, constituting about 16% of the world's population. As life expectancy rises steadily, so does the likelihood of experiencing a disability during one's lifetime. This presentation focuses on visual impairment-related disabilities, particularly through the lens of Google Maps' Lens in Maps feature, which enhances the navigation experience for visually impaired users.
