AMD gains on Intel in server, desktop, mobile

AMD's market share in x86 CPU shipments rose to 20.8% from 17.2% a year ago, while Intel accounted for 79.2% down from 82.8%. AMD's server chip share increased to 23.6% from 18% a year ago.
Genoa, AMD's 4th Gen Epyc processor family, is driving growth in the server chip segment. Intel remained dominant in the client CPU segment with 79.4% share, while AMD gained 3.5 percentage points from last year.
