Amazon to rival Temu with plans to launch discount section shipped from China
Briefly

Amazon will launch a dedicated section on its shopping site similar to China's Temu, offering unbranded fashion, home goods, and daily necessities from Chinese warehouses. This move is seen as a direct response to the rise of cheap marketplaces like Shein and AliExpress.
Unlike Amazon's typical next-day delivery, products in this new section will take 9 to 11 days to reach customers. The platform plans to sign up merchants this summer and begin accepting inventory in the fall, allowing sellers to manage their product selection and pricing.
It's uncertain if the shipments will benefit from a U.S. trade provision exempting packages valued under $800 from customs duties. Despite not confirming the plans, Amazon expressed interest in enhancing customer satisfaction by expanding selection, lowering prices, and improving convenience.
Amazon's market value surpassed $2 trillion on June 26, alongside Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, and Alphabet. The company's shares hit an all-time high, experiencing its most profitable quarter to date with operating income surging over 200% to $15.3 billion.
