Microsoft's new Copilot+ PC initiative aims to leverage Arm-based chips and AI to fulfill its mobile computing dreams, after past failures with Windows RT and Arm devices.
Microsoft's timeline often lags behind due to reliance on partners. The Copilot+ program waited for Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite chips and app developers to optimize for NPUs.
"We engineered this update of Windows with the focus on AI and specifically AI inference on those devices, and [with] making sure we were taking full advantage of the Arm 64 instruction set," shared Microsoft's Pavan Davuluri.
