The Alan Wake and Control universe may expand to film and TV
Briefly

Annapurna's expertise across film, TV and video games makes them an ideal partner for us, said Remedy CEO Tero Virtala. This agreement will ensure we can develop Control 2 into the best game possible, allow us to move into self-publishing for selected titles and expand our franchises to other mediums. The collaboration represents a strategic move to harness film adaptations alongside game development, which is increasingly critical as the industry evolves.
The agreement should alleviate some financial pressure on Remedy. With Control 2 initially budgeted at 50 million euros, expanding into TV and film could provide fresh revenue streams. This financial backing can offset declining operating profits that Remedy has experienced. By merging game development with cinematic storytelling, Remedy aims to fortify its economic position while capitalizing on the rich narratives within the Control and Alan Wake universes.
