Threads has officially rolled out direct messaging, permitting users to send private messages only to followers or mutual followers from Instagram. To initiate a DM, users select the envelope icon in the application’s toolbar, leading to an inbox. Currently, direct messaging is accessible to users aged 18 and above and supports one-on-one conversations. However, Threads does not provide end-to-end encryption for its messaging service.
