""This outstandingly generous initiative from Stephen Richardson and Treadtracker has made an impossible journey possible". She added: "So many fans are priced out of football especially those with young families - its a real Tangerine fairytale come true. "A real sense of unity and optimism has been ignited and words just don't cover how much we appreciate this.""
Steve Richardson, 65, offered free coach travel to Blackpool supporters for the FA Cup Third Round match at Ipswich on 10 January. The trip is a 560-mile (901km) round trip and Richardson's TreadTracker company is the club's kit sponsor. The initiative attracted an overwhelming response and organisers are running 18 coaches, with more fans contacting them. Supporters' representatives praised the gesture as making an otherwise impossible journey possible and noted its boost for families priced out of football. The offer created a renewed buzz among fans reminiscent of the club's Premier League days.
