San Jose officials to vote on tougher RV rules near schools - San Jose Spotlight
Briefly

Councilmembers are set to approve policies to limit large vehicle parking, RV overnight parking, and encampment proximity to schools, in response to safety complaints from Independence High School, Shirakawa Elementary School, and Challenger at Berryessa.
Despite concerns from homeless advocates about discrimination, students and parents have reported feeling threatened and unsafe due to issues like needles and therefore support policy changes for safer school environments.
Mayor Mahan highlighted that the youth are directly impacted by homelessness issues and are urging the council to take action for a better and safer community.
Proposed policies aim to regulate areas where large vehicles create safety hazards, with the city considering towing such vehicles in designated zones based on safety assessments, although initial warnings would be given before towing is enforced.
