When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim who was neither conscious nor breathing and was suffering from at least one gunshot wound, the San Jose Police Department stated in a prepared release.
Despite their efforts, the victim was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene, San Jose police said in the statement.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the event are under investigation, police revealed as the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office plans to release the victim's name.
