Mount Everest is having a growth spurt, say researchers
Briefly

Researchers have discovered that Mount Everest is experiencing a growth spurt, with recent findings indicating an increase in its height due to geological processes.
The ongoing geological activities continue to push Everest upwards, resulting in an additional 15 to 50 meters of height over the last 89,000 years.
Prof Jingen Dai emphasized that Everest's anomalous elevation, being about 250 meters higher than its neighboring peaks, raises interesting questions regarding the mechanisms at work.
The study highlights that Everest's height is not static, as the mountain is influenced by both uplift and erosion, illustrating the dynamic nature of geological processes.
