San Francisco Fire Department Media Two adults hiking off-trail in San Francisco's Fort Funston were rescued by firefighters on Sunday evening, sending a reminder that the bluffs and sand dunes of this coastal area in the city's southwest corner are dangerous, officials said.Captain Jonathan Baxter, a spokesperson for the San Francisco Fire Department, said the two individuals were walking in the area around the hang-gliding pad and had reached a point where they would have fallen up to 70 feet if they had continued.
