San Jose man charged in East Bay copper wire caper
Briefly

A 45-year-old man from San Jose has been charged with felony grand theft after allegedly stealing $1,300 worth of copper wire from a Moraga hardware store.
On September 3, the man concealed copper wire rolls in a shop vacuum box and paid only $110 for the vacuum to avoid detection by the cashier.
Upon returning to the store for a return, the manager recognized him from surveillance footage, which led to his arrest by Moraga police.
The suspect is currently in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility without bail, facing earlier warrants from other counties.
