MTA buses to fine drivers starting next week for double parking, blocking bus stops | amNewYork
Briefly

Starting on Aug. 19, the MTA will begin issuing fines to drivers caught blocking bus stops or double parking, aiming to deter illegal behavior.
Frank Annicaro emphasized, "Stay out of the way of our buses. Stay out of our bus lanes, do not block our bus stops, do not double-park."
Fines for blocking bus flow start at $50 and can escalate to $250 for repeat offenders, according to the MTA.
Only 9% of drivers commit another violation after a single fine, indicating the effectiveness of the Automated Camera Enforcement Program.
