SF supervisors from both progressive and moderate factions oppose cutting the $3 million-a-year program that employs 34 salaried ambassadors for safety, crime deterrence, and other community services in six neighborhoods.
Several ambassador programs funded by the city, nonprofits like Urban Alchemy, and SFPD's Community Ambassador Program, which Breed sought to expand, exist with some overlapping services in different city neighborhoods.
