The Department of Education announced that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be released on October 1, reverting to its traditional timeline following delays in the previous years due to a major overhaul. Last year's FAFSA launches took place in January and late November, caused by technical issues. To mitigate frustrations experienced by families, a new process for inviting contributors will be implemented, allowing parents or guardians to assist in filling out the form using just an email without prior registration on StudentAid.gov. A pilot beta-testing will also continue this year to streamline the rollout.
