As swanky SF rooftop bar reopens, city's nightlife stirs back to life

"There's been a hole with it not being open," said Trick Dog's Scott Baird, who created Starlite's new cocktail menu. "We're just really excited for it to be open again. It's really fun to be a part of, because there's a familiarity to it."
The Sir Francis Drake Hotel (now the Beacon Grand) first opened in 1928, with the rooftop bar's original iteration, the Starlite Roof, first cropping up in the '40s. Back then, the Drake was a skyscraper in San Francisco's skyline.
