The United Arab Emirates has successfully mediated the exchange of 115 prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine, marking the first such exchange since August.
Ukraine's President Zelenskiy expressed gratitude for the returned soldiers, who included border guards and national guard members, highlighting the importance of their service during the war.
According to Ukraine's Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, many of the returned Ukrainians previously defended the port of Mariupol, underscoring their bravery.
UAE's foreign ministry confirmed that their mediation efforts have facilitated the exchange of a total of 1,788 captives, reflecting their diplomatic engagement in the conflict.
