Evenepoel successfully defended his world time trial title in Zurich, becoming the first rider to hold both Olympic and world time trial titles concurrently, alongside Grace Brown.
Despite a mechanical issue, Evenepoel managed to maintain a competitive edge, pushing through the final kilometers without a power meter, relying solely on his instincts and feelings.
Evenepoel reflected on his performance, stating, 'I was struggling in the last two or three kilometers... without the power meter, it was pretty difficult to keep the pace.'
Facing strong competition from Filippo Ganna, Evenepoel noted the challenge saying, 'I pushed quite hard... if you want to win, you need to feel your body as well.'
