Remote working is the least preferred work set-up among UK jobseekers at 16%, while 22% prefer full office presence and 40% favour hybrid arrangements. Hybrid working typically involves roughly three days in the office and is the top choice across all generations. Jobseekers rank better work-life balance (40%) and location (19%) among their top priorities when job hunting. More than half (58%) believe in-office presence supports career progression through learning from colleagues and improved promotion prospects. Gen Z reports the strongest belief that office presence aids career growth; Gen X leads on hybrid preference.
