Veterans are largely unaware of housing grants for aging in place
Briefly

A majority of U.S. veterans are unaware that they qualify for VA grants for home modifications, which increases their ability to age in place.
The VA hosted a virtual event to raise awareness about grant programs available to veterans, enabling them to make their homes more accessible.
Among veterans aged 45 and older, 91% prefer to remain at home as they age, highlighting a strong desire for the autonomy of aging in place.
Despite their desire to age in place, over a quarter of veterans require financial assistance for home modifications to facilitate this preference.
