Python 3.13 introduces a new REPL contributed by Pablo Galindo Salgado, Łukasz Langa, and Lysandros Nikolaou, addressing limitations in the existing deeply tangled interpreter.
The decision to base the new interpreter on PyREPL was made to mitigate risks as maintaining terminal applications is hard and starting from scratch posed higher user risks.
