Tatyana Tomashova has received a ten-year ban from athletics and has been stripped of her silver medal from the 2012 Olympics due to doping violations.
The court of arbitration for sport confirmed that Tomashova tested positive for anabolic steroids during retests of samples collected in June and July of 2012.
Tomashova, now 49, is among six top-finishers in the London final found guilty of doping, raising significant concerns over competitive fairness.
Lisa Dobriskey, who finished 10th in the controversial race, expressed her disbelief at competing on an uneven playing field due to widespread doping.
