Researchers found that 96% of non-federal acute care hospitals' websites share user data with third parties. Most lack privacy policies, and many of those that have policies disclose third-party recipients.
A previous study by the University of Pennsylvania revealed that 98.6% of US non-federal hospital websites transfer visitor data to tech giants, social media companies, and data brokers.
