Brooklyn to receive federal resources to prosecute domestic violence offenders with illegal firearms
Briefly

The U.S. Department of Justice has designated Brooklyn as one of 78 communities in the U.S. to prioritize domestic violence offenders illegally possessing firearms.
My office will continue to use every tool and resource available to address domestic violence in our communities and hold violent actors accountable," said U.S. Attorney Breon Peace, emphasizing the importance of community partnerships.
This initiative aims to reduce intimate partner gun violence by targeting offenders such as those convicted of domestic violence who are prohibited from owning firearms.
The collaboration between federal and local agencies, particularly the ATF and NYPD, aims to effectively address domestic violence in Brooklyn.
