When Your Kid Is Not Invited to the Party
Briefly

When children find out they weren't invited to a party, parents often feel tempted to intervene aggressively. However, reactions may be more about parental emotions than the child's feelings. It's important to assess your child's actual response first. Your child might not care, or they could be putting on a brave face. Helping your child articulate their feelings allows them to process the situation healthily. Encourage friendships that positively engage your child and don’t assume they feel devastated when left out.
The party child may be someone your child doesn't know well or doesn't like, which could minimize the importance of not being invited.
It feels good to be heard and understood! Keep the focus on your child's feelings, not how terrible the other child is.
