Yosemite could see snow in August for the first time in 21 years
Briefly

The highest peaks of Yosemite National Park are forecast to receive a dusting of snow this weekend as a low-pressure system that's expected to be unusually strong and cold for August sweeps California.
Kris Mattarochia stated that Yosemite has seen measurable snowfall about 10 times in the past 100 years, making an event like this particularly notable in summer.
For it to be below freezing, it's not unheard of this time of year; to be in the mid-20s becomes more unlikely, especially for snow to fall in Yosemite.
While rain is predicted to fall in the valley, snow in Yosemite is not in the forecast, which is an even rarer event.
