Launched in 1990, the Human Genome Project sought to sequence the human genome as comprehensively as possible, revealing over 90% coverage by 2003.
Despite initially promising a mosaic DNA sample, over two-thirds of the Human Genome Project DNA came from one individual, RP11, unbeknownst to him, raising questions about transparency and representation in genetics.
