The research published in the journal of Animal Ecology shows that fluoxetine, even at low concentrations, negatively impacts male guppies' body condition and reproductive traits over generations.
Co-lead author Dr. Upama Aich emphasized that fluoxetine's effects on male guppies, such as decreased body condition and sperm quality, should awaken concerns about the survival of these fish in polluted waters.
