Global methane emissions rising at fastest rate in decades, scientists warn
Briefly

Global emissions of methane are rising rapidly, with levels significantly climbing since around 2006. Unless immediate action is taken, methane emissions will continue to grow throughout the rest of the 2020s, contributing to the climate crisis escalation.
Methane, having 80 times the warming power of CO2 in the first 20 years, remains largely unaddressed compared to carbon dioxide. The recent acceleration in methane growth poses a significant challenge in combating anthropogenic warming.
