A Supermoon and Lunar Eclipse Will Light Up and Darken Tuesday's Night Sky
Briefly

The lunar eclipse will take place between 8:41 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday and 12:47 a.m. Wednesday, with the peak occurring at 10:44 p.m.
Bruce Betts, chief scientist at the Planetary Society, said, "Eclipses offer a chance to feel the three-dimensional nature of everything, in a visceral way, it's like, wow."
This partial lunar eclipse will be visible across most of the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe.
Unlike a solar eclipse, where the moon blocks the sun, this eclipse involves Earth's shadow spilling over the moon, obscuring part of its surface.
