Ron Marinaccio, a 29-year-old reliever, was claimed by the Chicago White Sox off waivers from the Yankees and optioned to Double-A Birmingham.
Marinaccio displayed impressive minor league performance this year, recording a 1-3 record with a 2.04 ERA and eight saves for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
During his time with the Yankees, Marinaccio had a solid overall performance, going 6-5 with a 3.22 ERA in 101 relief appearances over three seasons.
The Chicago White Sox’s Triple-A Charlotte team has concluded its season, while Double-A Birmingham is currently competing in the Southern League championship series.
