Yankees 0, Orioles 2: Yanks avoid obscure history, can't avoid shutout
Briefly

For almost eight innings we had a real chance at seeing a weird bit of history. In the 19,000 odd games that the Yankees have contested, they've never lost 1-0 on a leadoff home run... The score held until the bottom of the eighth, when an uncharacteristic Anthony Volpe error led to the Orioles' second run.
The O's second run is perhaps indicative of a longer-term issue with this team: the Yankees' bullpen doesn't really strike guys out. Entering play today they ranked 17th in the sport.
