Around the Empire: Yankees news - 6/8/24
Briefly

The Yankees received some good news about right fielder Juan Soto yesterday, as an MRI revealed 'just inflammation and no structural damage' in his left forearm; most significantly, there is no damage to the ligament, ruling out the much-dreaded torn UCL, which would have at best rendered him a pure DH like 2022 Bryce Harper (and at worst, caused season-ending surgery).
Last night, the Dodgers sent Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the mound for the first matchup between the Yankees and their former Fall Classic rivals. Had the Yankees had their way, however, he would have been donning pinstripes, not dominating them over seven shutout innings.
Is the duo of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto the best righty/lefty duo in baseball history? When Ken Rosenthal was originally posed the question prior to the season, his immediate reaction was that the Dodgers and Braves might have better duos at the top of their lineups.
