Mets add Austin Adams to shore up bullpen
Briefly

The Mets made a small addition to their bullpen Thursday with the signing of right-hander Austin Adams, who appeared in 24 games for Arizona last season before he suffered a fractured right ankle after being drilled by a Joc Pederson comebacker on Aug. 1.
And in 2021, Adams set some unwanted major league history, as he became the first pitcher to hit more than 20 batters in less than 50 innings in a season. Still, he's had success in getting swings and misses, as well as limiting hard contact through a major league career that's spanned parts of seven seasons and included stops with Washington and Seattle.
