Gut Reaction: Phillies 10, Mets 5 (5/15/24)
Briefly

All of the Mets' infielders had plays where they didn't distinguish themselves and while they were only charged with two errors, there were other brain farts and plays simply not made. A few years ago, Keith Hernandez drew criticism as he rightly pointed out how un-fundamentally sound the Phillies were. And the Phillies weren't good in this game. It's just that the Mets were worse.
Mark Vientos started and had two hits, including an RBI double. But he was shaky in the field, failing to make at least two plays that an MLB third baseman needs to make. However, it seemed to me that the booth, especially Gary Cohen, gave him too much grief on a slow roller that he charged and was unable to make a play at first on a speedy runner.
