The first criminal trial of an American president, with Donald J. Trump as the defendant, could see a decision from the 12 jurors next week after prosecutors rested their case following Michael D. Cohen's testimony.
Judge Juan M. Merchan indicated that closing arguments would follow the Memorial Day weekend, with a slim chance of Mr. Trump testifying, as defense lawyers signaled they might finish early after the Conculsion of Robert J. Costello's testimony.
