Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist running for New York City mayor, met with Imam Siraj Wahhaj and spoke glowingly of him. Siraj Wahhaj has been described as allegedly terror-tied and has a public history of homophobic comments. When a reporter asked Mamdani whether Wahhaj's past statements bothered him, Mamdani smiled, smirked, and did not respond, entering a waiting SUV.
