MoMA's longtime director Glenn Lowry will step down in 2025
Briefly

"It's the right moment to think about the future of the museum and I just thought, carpe diem. All the things I set out to do 30 years ago are either accomplished or in play in a very positive way."
"He's broadened the whole discussion on the role of the arts and the role of a public institution like MoMA in the community at large," Marie-Josée Kravis, the chair of the museum's board, told the Times.
At the time of his hiring, Lowry was viewed as an odd choice for the US's foremost Modern art museum, but he successfully guided its significant expansions.
Lowry's leadership has included overseeing a merger with MoMA PS1, which provided the museum with a vital connection to contemporary artists and the wider community.
